Our Policies

Vet / Client / Patient Relationship

Veterinary clinics are bound by very strict rules and regulations when dispensing and selling medications.
The Dawson Creek Veterinary Clinic and its veterinarians are licensed through both the College of Veterinarians of British Columbia (CVBC) and the Alberta Veterinary Medical Association. We are not permitted to practice veterinary medicine without these licenses.

A vet-client-patient relationship (VCPR) is required for us to sell or dispense medication to a customer. This essentially means that in order for a clinic to sell a client medication, a veterinarian must have examined an animal or been on the client’s farm within a reasonable time frame to have a valid VCPR. Not abiding by these regulations puts our license and ability to practice in jeopardy.

Please complete this Vet Client Relationship form and return to our clinic to be kept in your file.

For more information on these regulations you can contact the College of Veterinarians for British Columbia (www.cvbc.ca)

Absent Owner Forms

Pets are often left at home in the care of a pet sitter, friend or relative when owners must be away from home for an extended period of time.  When an owner can not be reached in the event of an emergency, absent owner forms allow your trusted care giver to approve or deny emergency care services that we may not be able to perform without consent.

Please fax, email or deliver this Absent Owner form to our clinic to be kept in your pet’s files.

Payments are due at time of service.
